About this activity

This is the only shark tour in the USA and to our knowledge the only tour where guests do not get in the water to view the sharks. Delight in close-up views of sharks and a variety of other marine life. In this eco-friendly catamaran, travel through shallow waters to a location a few miles from shore, observing dolphins, stingrays, barracudas and native birds along the way. Bait is used to attract lemon, nurse and other types of sharks to the side of the boat. Key West Extreme Adventures Shark Tours
After check-in, the Tiger Cat will cruise through Key West harbor on the way to the Key West National Wildlife Refuge. Here guests will see numerous sharks and a variety of wildlife including dolphin.

1 hr 55 min - Travel through shallow water close to mangrove islands as you make your way about 4 miles (6.4 km) away from shore to the shark viewing site. Along the way, keep your eyes open for dolphin, sea turtles, stingrays, barracudas, tarpon and an array of native birds. Listen to your experienced pilot discuss the delicate ecosystem of this area and its abundance of wildlife. Enjoy complimentary water, soda, juice — as well as the use of polarized sunglasses — during your trip. When you arrive at the shark destination, get ready for an unforgettable experience! Your pilot will use bait to draw a host of sharks that swim right up to the boat so you and your family can observe them in safety and comfort. See numerous lemon and nurse sharks, and watch out for bull, black tip and hammerhead sharks during nearly one hour of shark viewing. Capture dramatic photos you can't wait to share with family and friends.

Amazing water excursion!

Soooo much fun

Awesome trip. A must if you have kids. The guides are great. Saw lots of dolphins playing and a ton of sharks. Kids even got to throw the fish in to the sharks. Great experience

Awesome!! A must to do!

Best Tour I have Ever Been On

We visited Key West in September 2022, and the main attraction for us was this very tour. I have always wanted to see sharks in the wild (I have been fascinated by them since the age of 8, and I am now 50!) - this tour does NOT disappoint in any way. The father and son team are fantastic - they have a fun sense of humour and are extremely knowledgeable, offering little titbits of information about the area, the islands off the coast, the sea itself and of course the sharks themselves. Shortly after reaching the area, the Lemon sharks appeared, and within a couple of minutes there were loads of them, all 4-6 feet long. The bait was splashed in and out of the water to get the sharks interested, and then feeding began! A magnificent spectacle. Seeing what a bunch of hungry sharks will do to half a Barracuda is quite incredible. They were jumping out of the water to get the fish and pushing each other out of the way to get a bite. The feeding process was repeated twice more, with the crew rotating the people on the boat so everyone got a good look at these fabulous beasts whilst they feed. On the way back, the Captain knew exactly where to go so that we could actually see Dolphins in the wild as an added bonus to the trip. I would LOVE to do this again. Sadly I am 4500 miles away and my bank account is less full than it was! Maybe in a few years...

Amazing

The water and views are breathtaking. The crew is a family affair that is very knowledgeable of the area and the species of sharks you will see. A couple of volunteers are offered a chance to toss shark some bait!!
